Running a single battery now

I am running a single battery now. I just picked up an Odyssey 1700MJT and this thing works awesome. My optimas always cranked slower in the morning but this thing doesn't care how cold it is. Its pretty big and required a little "fitting" to get into the battery tray and I might redo the hold down but otherwise I am super impressed with this thing. For those of you that don't have as much engine compartment room as us twin guys this is the way to go.

I have been running a single for more than 2 years. I used a group 31-5 xhd. It does require trimming of the plastic battery tray to fit. Has started unplugged down to 15 degrees with no problem. That Odessey has a lot more cranking amps( Mine is 1100) So you should have no problems unless you visit the artic circle in winter. Let us know how it works over the long term. Tim

So for just over the price of two Optima Red Tops you got one battery that does the work of two.

I wish a had seen this a year ago.

I found them for less than $260.00, plus $40.00 for shipping. $300.00 for a single battery.
I'm hoping I can find them local to me.
