running a comp as an ez question

I have installed a comp box minus the pump wire for now and have a couple of questions. First, what exactly did I accomplish by installing the boost elbow that came with it? Also what kind of adjustability do I have without the pump wire hooked up or is all the adjustability strickly for fueling purposes.<br>Thanks in advance

This info is from www.edgeproductsinc.com forums.

Power Level 1 on the Comp is the same as the EZ, on Power Levels 2-5 addition power is added via the wire tap onto the VP44 injection pump. If the pump wire is not attached with a Comp Levels 2-5 can be ran, but the power gain is not any higher than Level 1, the power will come in much earlier in the throttle but overall gain is the same.

What he said. I run mine on level 2 mostly. Only time I put it on 5 is to show off at a stop light or something. ;D

I run my comp w/o the pump wire too. What's cool is that you can map the low boost fueling levels to the primary power levels (1/1, 3/3, etc.) and then without the pump wire connected you have, voila, instant in-cab low boost fueling control. Mine gets level 3 most of the time but sometimes if I want to send a little smoke out the tail I'll move it up to 5 and let 'er rip.
