Rough Ram

I am looking into trying to soften up the ride of my 2001 Ram. I was considering going with Bilstein Shocks and Velvet Ride Shackles. I am also considering purchasing an aftermarket steering stabalizer and Energy Suspensions Polyurithane Bushings. I am just curious if anyone has had any expierances with any of these products and could give any feedback.

Velvet Ride
Bilstein Shocks
Energy Suspension

Re:Rough Ram

the urithane bushings will not soften the ride. they help reduce deflection in control arms and spring eyes. they usually stiffen the ride and squeek.

Dan

Re:Rough Ram

I went with the Bilstein Shocks ( less than 100 miles) I am impressed the ride. It did calm things down by about 50% smoother than stock. Also I went with the 8,000lbs shocks I could of went with the 7,000 lbs but my truck weighs in at 7,130 empty. OverFueled

Re:Rough Ram

I had Velvet Rides on my last truck(94 3/4 ton). I installed the shackles and a new set of shocks at the same time. The shocks were Gabriels I think. Nothing fancy.

Yes, it smoothed out the ride considerably. Even my wife noticed, and she never notices anything on my truck. She didn't even notice the straight pipe. But she noticed how much better it rode after I installed the VR's.

For the money, I would consider it a good investment.
