Replacement Headlight Bulbs

I have the stock bulbs in my ?"99" and they are looking a little yellow these days. New Optima Red Tops, so it's not the batteries. I searched the site for info on replacement bulbs, but got too much info on installing relays & such.

What is a good upgrade from the stock bulbs without going the relay route?

I run Silverstar Ultras, there a good bright bulb without to much blue look! There a bright white almost blue but not silly looking!
Im looking to go with new Headlight assemblies soon!
Ill take some pics, ive been meaning to but havent got there yet!

I'll try the Silver Star's and see if that helps. My bulbs are original so they are tired for sure.

I've been doing some reading on line and everything points to installing relays to get good clean 14V to the head lights as being the best alternative.

I didn't really want to do that.

the relays really do improve the lighting, you can get a kit from summit for the install that makes fairly quick work of it, or if you want to save a few bucks there are some how to in the posts here. the silverstars will help but the relay mod helps more

I have had Silverstars for 2 yrs and like them. 02 Factory lights (frt & back) are a brighter than earlier yrs, but the Silverstars still made a big difference. Not great....just much better.

Well, I changed the bulbs to Sylvania Ultras. There is a marginal improvement, less yellow. Guess I'll have to try the relay thing when it gets warmer. They are about $130? I'm assuming the premade relays plug right into the old connectors?

suvlights.com makes a really high quality harness that gives you full power to the lights from the batteries. It is a little spendy compared to the Summit (which is an ARP-ricer set up), but better quality.

They also make a harness for the Sport conversion.

I had bad luck with the Silverstars. I've been happy with the Piaa bulbs.

Slvers

Silver stars two years for me now too. Good choice in my opinion.
