Question Reliable 350 HP

For the sake of this post Lets say this is my last round of mods to my truck. I want arround 350 HP and my plan to achieve this is : upgrade auto tans, #4 plate, BD 40 HP injectors, KDP kit and advance timing, and larger exhaust turbo housing. This should put me right close to my HP target and controll egts

My dilemma, What size housing 14cm or 16cm, wastegate or not, and how much advance on the timing 15 or 16? Will the hx35 with larger exhaust housing support 350HP.

I have been trying to figure this out for a long while now and keep finding yes's no's and maybe's. I know this might not be the best way but its all I can afford. Can anyone tell me if this will work well and or help me with my dilemma questions.

Thank you for any help and your time.

I've been contemplating this myself, as far as the turbo goes. And I'm no expert by any means, I'm still running stock turbo/injectors/timing. From what I've read/heard, the HX35 compressor doesn't flow nearly enough air and you'd be pushing it over 300HP. HX 40 compressor with HX35 housing (hybrid) and a 14cm housing sounds like the ticket to me, as it's reasonable in price too.

Just guessing here, maybe even a 16cm housing if you're in an auto (only lags once in a stretch!), but it is a little laggy from what I hear. I'm interested in other opinions!

I have done a number of daily driver type trucks over the years in that power range and what I do is an Hx40 turbo with a specially machined 12,14 or 16 Hx35turbine housing. This makes a turbo that will bolt up with no extra downpipe or other connection problems. These flow real well in the 30-40 psi range and depending on your fuel settings will live well up to 45psi. At 40 psi with 15 degrees timing you should easily be around 350hp at the wheels. I have never been a big fan of the Hx40 comp wheel on the Hx35 shaft (hybrid turbo), that's a large wheel to swing with that small turbine but some think they are great. These Hx40s I do work fine without a wastegate because of the larger turbine wheel so drive pressure is reduced and they don't overboost easily at all. I run a 12cm on my 02 auto, my 3 closest friends run 14cm on a 98 12v, an 01 auto and an 00 5spd. These are some examples, I've probably done at least 30 of these and nobody ever asks to have their old one back. These are 100%new parts and reasonably priced.

My last 2nd gen that I owned (1997) Dyno'd at 373 HP and 951 TQ with 16* timing, 370 injectors, 100 plate full forward and the AFC was pretty much non functioning. Still had the stock HX35 with 5 inch exhaust, it did get hot though, It wouldn't take long to pass 1500* on the pyro. Boost was around 36-37.

I'm pretty sure those were the only mods
