rebuilt p7100 with 14mm plungers!!!
So im gunna be putting a new pump on my truck since my last one died.... and this new one was built with 14mm plungers.. so what can i expect outa this pump? What should i set my timing as? Anyone go from stock 12mm plungers to 14s? what did you notice between the two? thanks in advance. Im super stoked to get my truck going again, cant wait to feel the difference in pumps

The difference between a 12 and a 13 is very noticeable. I would think a 14 is more of the same. Probably be hard to control bottom end smoke and the throttle will be very sensitive. Never heard of one being used on the street because they tend to wear quicky.
Thanks, yeah i didnt think they would be all to DD friendly... but im okay with that
i have another pump i could always switch to if it was really that bad, the guy im buying it from had it built by Colins (family owned) diesel in stockton, theyve built alot of race pumps and performance pumps. The pump was on his dd truck that he towed with, but he bought a new truck. Why do larger injector lines need to be used? Ive got laser cut dvs already and 150hp injectors.... probably could use a s400.......
Thanks fella ill post results when its opn.... and maybe video!

My truck daily drives and tows fine with the 13mm pump i have. It takes a bit of afc tuning and the right injectors, but it can be done. I don't have a valet switch and i don't pull the plate or afc back when i daily drive. 13mm pumps have great throttle response and it takes very little throttle to daily drive. I run .084 lines, .120 holders(All I could find), .093 tubes(p-pump conversion) and .024 DV's. My injectors are Mach 7's (240hp). Drove it all last year with no issues. I plan on using it with the new motor too. Larry at Collins Diesel is a good guy and knows his stuff.
I think 150 hp injectors are going to wear out the cam in the pump. Iwas told by the guy that built my 13mm racing pump no less than a 6x.020 injector with body work done to them.Est 300 hp injector. you need the larger line to help reduce come of the pressure as the plunger is coming up and forcing fuel. What kinda cc's will that pump run?? I can not clear up my 13mm with a 3.2" single at 5500 rpms
i mean i wouldnt mind new big injectors... just dont wanna have to pay for them. im not sure what cc's it will run. Ill get more specs when i get the pump from the guy. I might have his familys diesel shop tune it with my DVs and find out the flow. Thanks for the info
