I am rebuilding the 47RE in my 98 24v 2500.

Well, I should say I'm helping out my friend, who does transmissions as a side job. I'm learning though!


First I was wondering if anyone had bought an Opie billet shaft and remembers what it cost? I thought it was $650, but I got billed $750 for mine.


I am looking for a laminated flexplate, what's the best deal out there? I found BD has a billet unit for $350, but I am told that the warranty is void on the shaft unless I run a laminated flexplate, not a billet.

I'm going to see if I can get ahold of Opie tomorrow, but in case I can't figured someone on here can help me.


The last thing, were exactly is the check ball in the transmission lines? Which line and what fitting is what I'm not sure of and I'd rather not pull all the lines off to check.

 

No info on the check ball?

I guess I'm going to have to pull all my lines off and see for myself.
