Rear Disc Brakes???

Just saw an ad for an 02 2500 forsale and it list rear disc brakes? Was this an option for the 2nd gens? I've never seen one before so just wondering? I would like to change mine out to disc and this might be the easiest way to do it, if not does anyone know of a company making conversion kits for the dana 80? Thanks for any info...

Hmm, as far as I know they switched to disc brakes all around in 2002.

.01.5 was the first year for disc brakes in the rear. They were a standard non option part.

They also have 4 wheel ABS, so there may be a number of parts differences.

i just checked my FSM And it lists disc brakes for the rear in that year, so they must have been an option.....2001.5 they were standard

No i bought it used i figured that it was a aftermarket kit. I dont know if the sport package makes any diffierence in those options?

Any ways I love the disk brakes all the way around it really stops trailers better than any of our trucks with drums on the back.

Speaking of disk breaks does anybody have any tips for replacing the fronts.
Doing it this weekend hopefully done chevys before and but no dodges myself.

Someone must have swapped those in. When I ordered my 2001, discs were not an option. They're in the FSM since they were used on the 1500s, but were not available on until 2001.5.
