Rb1 Navigation

How many of you have the rb1 navigation set up in there truck and how well does it look?
I've read that if your truck has the rounded corners and not the square ones it fits much better.
I got the OK from the wife so I am going to start doing some more research before I actually order it. I want to go with the rb1 and add a disc player with it when I do it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I didn't think it would fit the 2nd gens. at all, but I maybe wrong. For the money, I would look at an aftermarket setup with a bigger screen.

Good luck,

d0dg301,
This is from user NOSPIN4ME, in another thread on GPS Navigation in this forum;

I've got the Mopar RB1 in my Rubicon. It's a pretty cool Nav unit. I tried to install it in my Ram, and yes I did get it to fit (didn't look half bad either). Bought the adapter harness mounted the GPS antenna and guess what? It didn't work. The 2500/3500 up to 2002 does not have the correct data buss to run the RB1. Very dissappointing.

So now I'm running the CD player that came in the Rubicon in the Ram. I put the RB1 back in the Jeep.
Sounds like he might have the info. you are looking for.

I fit the RB1 in my Ram...slight mods to the dash bezel, nothing extreme. But the RB1 does not work in the 2500/3500 older than 2002. The data buss does not supply the correct info to the RB1.

I am now running a 2004 single CD (from my Jeep) in the Ram. Fits good, just needed the adapter harness to plug it in.

Thanks for the info, not what I want to hear though. But am glad that someone is looking out for me. Disapointing, as that would have just been another cool gadget to add to my truck.
Thanks again Rob for the info.
