The wife won't tolerate one iota more noise so straight pipeing is out of the question. But want to help breathing and mileage. Thinking of adding a straight through muffler and a 4" tail pipe to the otherwise stock 3". Worth it? And what are my muffler options. Some have mentioned a Donaldson or Walker or hushpower.

 

Donaldson would be the quietest and cheapest. $60.00
Hushpower would be next, but pricey. $199.00
Straight through only knocks the noise down a tad. Its still a straight through design.

 

Spintechs sound really nice, but I believe 3 inch is the biggest they come in. Could run duals though.

 

donaldson makes a 5" muffler 90535 i think it is about 5 foot long and 9 or 10 " in diameter just use adapters in and out quiet as stock and fits easy

 

They also make it in 4" too.

 

I'm trying to get Spintech to whip up a custom 5" model for me...

Spintech/Dr.Gas is still small enough that they'll do almost anything on a custom order basis.

You can go to Donaldson.com, and they have a dealer locator. I typed in my zip code, and up popped about a dozen dealers within 15 miles of my home.
