My new truck i just got came with a superchips programmer...i was just wondering if anyone used them and could give me any info on them???? i never really have seen them talked about much on here...i havent hooked a trailer to it yet, but unloaded the truck runs pretty great right now.. but i didnt know the pros and cons of superchips, if they are "towing safe" and whatnot....trying to decide if i should just buy an edge ez like i had before, or if i would be ok sticking with what came with???? any info would be appreciated..thanks..

 

I have been borrowing one from a friend who's 99 is dead. It would not be my 1st choice. Did you get the vehicle programing instructions with it? That will tell you everything. Basically 3 levels: high perf,perf-tow and, tow safe plus it reads codes. I tow with it in high perf since I have gauges.

 

It didnt come with any sort of instructions..thats why i was unsure about it...i messed around with it a while ago and after that i put it back to stock and letting my brother use it on his...it seems like im sitting there waiting like 15 minutes just to change anything, so i think ill go back to the EZ..

 

It does take some time to download a program. I just leave it on High Performance. I tow with it on this setting also. Haven't had any problems.

 

I ran a superchips for a year....nice first tuner, but if you want a great tuner....Smarty! You won't believe it!
