question about twins
im looking at putting twins on my truck, im gonna be getting a transmission ordered here within the next month and i want to do a few things while i am under the hood so to speak, i wanted to know is there a setup to run twins using my stock turbo as one of them and if there is what other mods would i need to have to make it run right/good injectors etc., the mods i have right now are the ones in my signature, any help would be greatly appreciated.

im not much of a 12 valve guy but i do know there are kits i think maybe source auto has 1 that uses the stock turbo and uses a s400 or htb3 underneath. if you want some serious power your gonna want some 100+ hp injectors. maybe even 150s. and head studs too!
Give Bill or Rip at Source Automotive a call. My first setup was a HX35-S400 setup and it spooled quick for a small setup and handled my EGTs great. You can always buy a newer hotpipe later on for your setup from them if you decide that you wanta run a larger turbo over the S400. They are great guys to deal with and have some VERY SICK trucks!!!!
wow thanks guys, yea i was thinkin about 100 or 150 injectors but do u think i will need the studs? i thought u needed studs if i bumped the timing or if i put a whole lotta boost, and how well is that gonan run i know u said the egts were good and it spooled good but how good is it and is it gonan be worth the money?
Anything over 45psi of boost you wanta stud. I ran 50 but it was pushing it. They are a good investment otherwise you gotta pull the head and replace the gasket and its not too fun. I still am running on my stock gasket somehow with studs and haven't blow one yet. With the twins your boost is going to be higher than 45 unless you really wastegate it off and run small injectors. Best to put them in cause you are really gonna like the higher boost!!

oh ok idk then i dont think im going to have enough $$$$ to do all of those (injectors,studs,and twin kit)all at once but im gonna have to do some more price checking, im think im only gonna have around 1800 to do my stuff after i get my tranny so idk
Your pretty limited on the 1800$.
IMO, head studs are a must for twins. If you have em wastegated to 45 lbs, you arent gonna get the avalible power twins offer.
You'd be better off goin with a combo like a HX-35/40 hybrid or s300, and some Mach 1.6 or DDP 3's.
That way you will have a turbo and injectors that compliment each other, and not have to worry about head studs and still get a Very nice power boost.

I would tweak your pump for more fuel first? Which governor springs you have? Put in 191's or laser deliver valves. Have you adjusted the AFC for more travel? Push the plate fully back toward the firewall. If you don't have a 215HP 5 speed 12v, you could also use a rack plug so you have abit more fuel. Adjust the barrells, for more fuel. An aftermarket camshaft and valve springs would wake up the motor decent with a cam. I would run a S475 for the primary and build you own twins. Just remember to port out the wastegate for better flow or put in an external gate. The stock turbo will limit top end power. Benching the pump for max cc's is also a good idea. 4gsk or 5 gsk for the governor springs. You might have to adjust the throttle stops some so you can get max rpms.
i have the 3gsk,and no i havent done anything with the afc housing i am unsure about how to go about that, and what does that do? i thought u pushed the plate toward the front end to give more fuel, or was that your point? no i have the 12 valve auto but its a built auto(in the process anyway),how do i adjust the throttle stops also?

So if I go with studs, the twins, and a 3000gsk kit what turbo and injectors could I add that will give me good spooling and still allow me to tow my 15K fifth wheel?

I like both the BTH-3B/26 and S475/1.32 for primary. They are cheap but work nice, some guys like more expensive primaries. I like to build-up cheap stuff first. I would have the wastegate open around 20-26psi to start with, that helps to lower egt's but allowing the primary to spool-up.
