Question about twins...

the k31 works really well and gets you into the 6-7 range and you can put any reasonably sized charger ontop of it. i used to have a 64/14 and i towed with it and it did alright. the s400 i have is off of a large generator and has i beleive a 83mm with a 1.39 turbine housing.it moves noticably more air than a 74mm. its laggier but it pushes some series air once going. i have a couple of others also being larger in front size and a couple having larger rear size also

Nope...but I've ran a HX40/B2 setup, and a set of the BD Super B twins, as well as a B1, Super B single, S300 62/.7, HX35/40, Edge BB Jammer, Garrett Stage II BB, GT4088R BB, and done a little tuning on an HX35/small S400 setup. Sometime in the semi-near future I'll be building a GT4088R/GT4508R twinset!

As you can tell I have been somewhat disappointed in Holset's smaller chargers They don't like me!

Chris:
Yeah, I ran it pretty hard but it was on the top, so that's good. However, Phil did find a crack in the exhaust housing so we have been looking for another one for him. I had one and I do not know where I put the darn thing Chris! The darn exhaust housings on those things are about as much as the whole turbo costs!! It should work for Phil until he can get something else for his 98'. I saw about 27 more RWHP with the HX-40/16 than with the HX-35/12.
And I know you have been "disappointed" in Holsets smaller chargers!
Heck Chris, like me, you are hard on the equipment too!

If we were easy on stuff John we'd never find something better to hold up to the abuse...that would be boring!

GT4088R/GT4508R --- 63.5mm and 81.6mm, wastegates on both...I'm hoping it will move enough air to keep a 650hp+ 12v cool, and spool fairly decent too!

ya i was lookin at putin the 4508 on my lower half and see what it can do for me i have like 30 turbos in the garage and i just put ones on a take some off and what not. but the liquid cooled i dont put on very often. our pikes peak cat runs superchargers with twins on both sides of the block. and we use alot of watercooled turbos. im lookin at doin some supercharging setup on the cummins. but its alot of work and engineering so im wondering if is even worth doing.

So far I'm happy with the charger...other than it spools slower than I hoped, much slower, and it surges bad...I think a smaller turbine housing will cure or help both!! Now just finding one that we can make fit!
As far as the water cooled, dual BB...I think it's gonna be the thing to beat as far a toughness. I've blown intercooler boots, barked it, surged it, everything I can throw at it, and it's still feels the same as it did when I put it on.
