quadzilla XZT upgrade
RPM1...Sure let me know.
Ok, Quad states there was nothing wrong w/the box. Re-installing it. One point to note, all things equal, w/the box removed my mpg has increased about .5 mpg. I don't get the fact that Quad states improved mpg on the "timing only" setting but I get lower mpg w/their product installed. Don't get me wrong it's a great "little" 65hp box but I believe quad may want to consider removing the phrase that it improves mpgs as I haven't seen any improvement as well as other's who've posted on this topic.

I have in the past but in this case and just for comparitive purposes I've tracked mpg on the overhead monitor. Yes, I realize it may not be 100% accurate but as I mentioned nothing else has been changed, just the box removed and mpg was registering .5 better. I don't get it.
2 good reasons not to use the overhead for mileage comparison:
1) we all know it is not very accurate to begin with even on a stock truck (i'm sure you have already taken this into consideration)
BUT
2) when adding an electronic programmer, who knows how much it also messes up the electronics and calculations of the overhead
someone has to to do some series of box and no-box calculations before we can come to a conclusion on the mileage gains.
i used to track my mileage like a nut, every tank every time. but i have come to realize that it doesn't change the way i drive regardless of how good or poor the mileage is. but, if i was driving a lot on the highway with loads that would be a different story. but for daily driving - i have given up on trying to keep the mileage numbers up.
