Propane injection

I want to put a propane injection system in my truck but I don't want to spend 600 bucks on one. is there anyone that knows of a cheaper way to do it? I just want to put one of those BBQ grill tanks in there and some solenoids and such. if anyone can help out with tips and suggestions, that would be great... thanks!

Save money for head gaskets while you're at it.

Re:Propane injection

Regulator off BBQ is set too low for REAL HP gain, but it works OK.
Get an electric solenoid for frig or heater out of an RV, use a switch on the dash or position switch on go pedal to turn propane on.
Make your own injector out of standard brass pipe fittings and rubber line. Get several plugs and drill different size hole in each to "tweak" for your preference. Put this in rubber hose from filter to turbo.

Worked OK on mine, but was a headache to fill propane tank twice for each fuel tank.

Re:Propane injection

I would look around at your local LP dealer for a *QUALITY* used tank (about 30- 65 gallons). It will be well worth your money. When you run a small ( 5 gal.) tank you will use up your vapor reserve VERY quick when your in it pretty hard and you will actually start sucking liquid . The bigger the tank is the bigger your vapor reserve. Also with the bigger vapor reserve you will get better milage and power out of the LP .
For hose just use air hose, after your regulator, to your manifold and right before your turbo. I can get you a pre set ,for your horse power range, regulator for your system at a really good price if you want (send me a PM).
If rigged up correctly you can expect 30-50 % more horsepower and about 30-40% better fuel milage. The ideal system will burn 4.5-5 galons of diesel for every gallon of propane .
Good luck and if you have any more questions Pm me and Ill see if I can help you out,
Scott
