the black housing should have nothing to do with the light.

bridle you will have some grief at first b/c with those the wires need to be swapped to get the dash light to go out and you need to splice into the wiring harness to get the halo and LEDs to work

Well I finally got the Projector lights from K2 Motor and let me say that was a PITA dealing with these guys terrible customer service and they have not a clue, plus they have no tech support. Anyways the lights were supposed to be plug and play..... NOT!! SO I installed them by cutting them into my HD harness and I am having a lot of the same issues that some of you other guys have had:

1) Dim low beam

2) Dim high beam

I wired them direct to my HD wiring harness to no avail???

I did not bother hooking up the halo lights I felt like it might look a little "ricey"
If anyone has pics with them hooked up I'd like to see them.

But for now I have no Headlights so in the morning I will have to try and figure out a way to wire them direct to my stock wiring harness hopefully this will fix my problem, otherwise I might just put them on a toggle switch, what do you think?

Thanks

Hey guys,

Just got my harness finished. I have a completely different bulb set up, but my truck has a switched ground headlight system, not a switched power. Is it possible that this is your problem? If the harness they sent you is for switched power, and you have switched ground, may cause some of the symptoms you are having. Not sure but I thought I would bring it up. there is a wiring diagram for switched ground here -> https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...d.php?t=229263.

IIRC continuous high beam indicator is a symptom of constant power to the high beam indicator circuit. With switched ground, there is bleed through on low beams which activates and deactivates the high beam indicator.

Could this be it??? OR have you already checked? If so, sorry to waste your time with worthless post.

Thank you for the reply I just got it finished and it all works real good!! This particular projector headlight needs to have the wiring at the back of the head light rewired. This is what I did:

If you are looking at the front of the female plug end of the stock harness it would look something like this if you were facing it looking down on it:

__ __ +

1) The power source for the high beam and low beam on the headlight need to be tied in together so that they will go into the positive (+) side of the plug.

2) The ground for the low beam gets tied into the center slot of the plug in the negative (-)

3) The ground for the high beam gets tied into the far left side of the plug in the negative (-)

This is how I did it and so far the low beams work properly and are very bright and the high beams work great and they are very bright.

The high beam indicator goes off and on correctly according to which beam is on.

I hope this helps after doing it and writing it out it seemed fairly easy but it took me over three hours to get it all buttoned up. Tomorrow night I will see how they actually work and if they are aimed properly. I'll post back later.

Thanks again

Told you bridleman you should of sent em back n just bought the ones i got.... the 4 wires if you want them to be hooked up need to be spliced into the wiring harness. I hooked mine to the parking lamps but they really arent that bright anyway so its not going to hurt ill find my pictures later on today as for aim they r a PITA you have to be careful not to break the adjusters (i did on one w/o even trying)

I do not think I want the the halo lights hooked up it looks a a little cheesy IMHO. Other than that they work real good so far we'll see tonight when I actually drive with them onBut so far so good I just hope they do not need any adjusting.

If I wanted to go with brighter bulbs what do you guys suggest?

i cant explain it is some thing to do with the brightness of the bulb . I do know tho that the bigger the number the brighter its supposed to be but it changes tint which makes it very hard to figure out what you want. 6ks are white but 8ks start turning light blue

I got mine put back together last weekend using my idea of putting the stock bulb into it and wiring the lowbeams to a switch. This works very well on my truck, I did a lot of trial to determine how far in to mount the bulb so that the filiment focused properly. It works and high/low beam projects properly.
