Projector Headlight Retrofit ???'s
Projector Headlight Retrofit ???'s
I finally bit the bullet and purchased a pair of Acura TL bi-xenon projector assemblies that I am going to be retrofitting into my stock '05 headlight housings (along with some Hella ballasts & D2S lamps, gatling-gun shrouds and wiring harnesses that control the bi-xenon function AND eliminate the lamp-out indicator issues).
Has anybody here done a similar retrofit and have photos of what you did to mount the projectors in the stock housings? Please share whatever you've got!
Will post pic's when I'm done.
Thanx

if you have a late model 05 it has different wiring than the early 05's. if a late 05 i can help. you do not need the resistors. and i can send pix of the acura's mounted. i also changed all of the other lights to L.E.D.'s. most are heating the lens in a oven and separating it. i was to lazy and cut the lens and silicone it back. i did not take pix of assembling them. i did three of our 06's the first one took three days the last one about four hours. the only mistake i made was i adjusted the beams to d.o.t. specifications and then hooked up to my 5th wheel for a 5,000 mile round trip. the weight of the trailer changed the pattern enough to blind the on coming traffic, i just ran in the day time until i got back and readjusted the beam with the trailer mounted.
Carl48; I would love to see pic's of how you installed your projectors!! Can you post them here?
I do plan to bake open the housings to remove the lenses. I want the installation to appear completely factory... I bought a used set of stock headlights to do this. My truck is an early '05, but the wiring harnesses I have eliminate the need for resistors and will not cause the lamp-out indicator issue.
Thank you!
