Alright, guys - looking into getting a big-valved ported head soon. Can anyone out there recommend any vendors for an all-out competition head? I'm not looking for something to drop EGT's a little - I'm looking for airflow at 6000 rpm. So far, my list of potential vendors includes John Russin, J.R. Adkins, and Scheid. Anybody else I should add to the list? Thanks!

Nope, dragracer. Still trying to decide between stock stroke / 6k or maybe stroker / 5k or so.

Heard some good things about F1/Don M heads for the 24v's, and I know he also does 12v heads.

DonM does excellent work on ported heads.

Not to be obnoxious, but why are you targeting 6k rpm? There's no HP advantage to 6k -- you'll be way out of the torque curve too. IIRC, torque = 60' times = wins.

Sure there is, if you run a big enough cam. Plus, I'm figuring on needing at least 3000 to light the chargers, so you've got to have something useable above that .

blackdiesel, it'll be going in a big 4x4, so I don't expect times like some of the lightened 2wd's are getting. We shall see....
