Planned Mods

Here in the next month or so I'm plannin to buy a 96-98 2500 12v 4X4 5 speed.From what I understand these motors make 215 hp and I think 440 lbs/torque factory.

I want to know what kind of numbers I can get with these mods:

Gauages(EGT,Boost,Fuel pressure)
Fuel Plate(#10 1/16th inch from full foward)
Timin(Set at 16.5 degrees)
Gov Springs(3,000 RPM springs)
Exhaust(4 inch turbo back straight pipe)
Intake(Custom cold air intake and K&N filter)
Boost elbow(Not sure what to do with that)

Now from what I've heard 12valves are all about tunin so Dixie Diesels in Columba,TN (they specialize in Cummins) will install eveything. I've been talkin to him and says he can adjust the AFC and the star screw as well as fix the dowel pin so I believe he can give the most amount of power out of these mods as he can I was just lookin to see what kind of numbers I could get.

One of friends has 99 dodge extended cab shortbox 2500, 4X4, 5 speed with 3 inch straight pipe, the other has 02 3500 extended cab dodge, 4X4, 6 speed with the same exhuast and my other friends has a 02 ford 3500 flatbed powerstroke with a 3 inch straight pipe and a Hypertech tuner.I would like to out run my buddies 02 dodge and atleast keep up the powerstroke if possible.

that set up will kill them all easy, but makin power is cheap, holding it is where the money comes in. you will need tranny mods. either clutch or converter mods to hold this power

Ok what type of clutch would I need to get and how much would that be?

I've heard centerforce (I believe thats the name) makes very good clutchs.

Anybody got any ideas about what numbers this would make?

Ok I went back to the peirs wedsite and looked at the fuel plate chart. It says that a #11 plate would be fine on the stock clutch, is this true?

I would really like to keep the stock clutch as long as I could cause I know they ant real cheap.

#10 seems to work real well with a GSK.

A stock clutch ain't going to last long at all with just about any mods.

ANyone got a guess at what numbers I'd make?

The piers fuel plate chart says with the #10 plare I should make 330hp and around 700 LBS of torque but I've heard that the chart numbers ant right?

Could I make 350hp and right around 725 torque with this setup?

My guess would be 300 or so rwhp and 800 or so ft-lbs rwtq. Don't get a Centerforce clutch. Go to www.southbendclutch.com and shop around. Then call and talk to Peter at SBC. Excellent customer service, great products, and good prices, too.
