Re:Pics of Scotty products?
Howdy & Welcome!
You can access all of Scotty's products at www.wildcatdiesel.com and look up the product name.. There are install photos and the like there. Be sure to click on the "printable Instructions" at the bottom of the information for good pictures of the install.
So, is the advantage of the clear one that you can see how the filter's doing? Or is it just coolness factor?
Actually, it was originally just a 'displayness' factor. We thought the clear units would be good for dealers to put on their counters to show how the system works. But a fair number have bought it based on being able to see the filter and for the coolness factor.

The clear units have 2 distinct drawbacks:
1) You can see the glue on the seams. You can see the glue in pic with the dustball above.

2) The clear really isn't glass clear. As the plastic drops over the mold, it will develop some imperfections that are impossible to clean up. You can still see through it, and from a couple feet back its not all that noticeable, but up close, it kind of has a bit of 'stained glass' look.

On the hole saw side, Home Depot has 4.5" holesaws you can buy. Plumbing shops and car stereo install places often have 4.5" holesaws as well, and you may be able to borrow one to drill the hole.

Rod
