performance question

As you can see on my truck specs I have an ok running rig. I am thinking about going to 90 horse injectors and a hx40/16 turbo. My question is the guys out there that have this set up how do you like it? How much difference will I feel? Thanks
Jason

Re:performance question

Its like going from a 1971 VW to a 427 L-88 camaro. You tell me do you think you would have fun smoking a vet, beamer, gt3000, and any other truck on thr road? OvefFueled

Re:performance question

Go with the new turbo from wildcat and get a set of EDM injectors instead.

Re:performance question

an HX40 and a set of 90 HP injectors will work nice, but you wont be smoking any 'Vettes..gotta pierce the wire to get 'close' to doing that. It will take Twins, Mach V injectors, and a Drag UFM to even attempt to hang with a Z06 Vette...and even then with a good driver in the Vette, you will have trouble.

adding a HX40 to just 90 HP injectors will only get you about 100 HP over stock total.

Bottom Line!

to beat a Z06 'Vette...you need to be firmly into the 12's

AT LEAST. A good driver can drive a bone stock Z06 to 12.4's. To beat a C5, you will need to run at least a 13.4. A good driver on one of those can maybe crack off a 13.0-12.99.

Moneyman, good numbers to start at. The documentation will be great for down the road, hold on to them OF

Re:performance question

When you buy an Edge Comp, there is a wire that is pierced on the injection pump to control fueling. A lot of people don't do this as it basically voids any engine warranty. Without piercing the wire it just modifes the timing and acts like an Edge EZ. I'm not sure if any of the other boxes out there require the wire to be pierced, just familiar w/ the Edge.

[quote author=gkainz link=board=7;threadid=14468;start=0#136675 date=1052520446]
[quote author=moneyman link=board=7;threadid=14468;start=0#136510 date=1052490636]
I have the injection pump wire pierced already. Re:performance question

TXRam is right. and we're talking about 2nd gen 24 valvers with the VP44 injection pump of course, not 03s. the EZ box, and others like it, listen for fuel and timing instructions on the instruction bus and re-map those instructions from stock to new levels. That is, they send new fueling and timing instructions to the VP44.

To get more fueling than an EZ can provide, you have to bypass the instruction bus and control the fuel solenoid directly. That is, EZ fueling essentially maximizes the ability of the VP44 to fuel the truck via pure software instructions.
"piercing the wire" allows a fueling box to go beyond the level of fueling that had been designed in to the software interface of the VP44. Any serious fueling box that delivers fueling beyond the EZ-type levels has to use the pump wire.
