Anybody running them in their trucks? If so are they worth the money?

Just about any camshaft upgrade is worth the money. As long as they work, and I haven't seen anyone "unhappy" with the PDR cam. There have been a few people that have them post their thoughts, try searching older posts.

I don't have a PDR cam but I do have an aftermarket camshaft and yes its worth the money.

Here a review that I wrote on TDR:

Installed Piers 24V performance cam and tappets in my '98, the day before towing my Jayco to Scheids, last September. Arriving at Scheids, I unhooked and did the sled pulls. Since that time I've been testing the cam with different injectors both in competition, daily driving and towing. The B1 turbo, Blue Chip Premium FMS and timing box have not been changed during the testing.

This camshaft has exceeded my expectations. Let me explain.........

Piers Cam improves turbo spooling, egts, fuel mileage while towing (I seldom check mileage empty), it broadens the torque curve of the engine, makes less smoke and more horsepower. The additional HP may only apply if you have fueling mods but the cam definately pulls harder near defueling rpm.

The cam does not give the "instant gratification" of a good set of 100hp injectors or a major fueling box. The cam change may be even more subtle then a turbo change. But most fueling or air modifications have draw backs such as higher egt's, more smoke off (or on) boost, turbo lag, turbo housing too slow for towing, high boost/blown head gaskets, etc. This cam doesn't have any negatives (other then the purchase and installation). It has performed well with the Bully Dog 8's injectors on down to the DD1's that I'm presently running. The big B1 Bomber turbo spools as quickly with the DD1's as it did previously with DDIII's (no electronic enhancement turned on).

Overall my experience with the PDR camshaft is all positve--no drawbacks. The installation is not for those that struggle with oil changes but is doable for serious home mechanics that own a service manual. I believe that the PDR cam delivers more air .........a good thing for the ISB .

I have also ran the PDR cam in my old truck which helped the old girl get up and go with the small VE injection pump of the 1st gens.

I agree with Larry... the PDR cam works very well. Like he mentioned, it's not the extreme hit you get with big injectors or a hot box, but it does have its benefits that are all positive except for the lighter wallet. I have noticed less smoke, 75 degree cooler EGTs across the board, shorter cool down time, and a much fatter powerband. On a dynojet, my truck makes over 400 hp from 2400 rpms to 3500 rpms... you don't see that on most trucks setup like mine, and I attribute that wide power to the camshaft. It's a pretty lengthy install, but easily do-able with the Cummins tools. I would definitely do the cam install again.

I have the PDR cam and its good, but I would invest in another turbo first. You just can't feel it in your pants like some other mods.

Head not here yet, cam on shelf in garage, going to order twins monday. What else can I say. Piers products are awesome the stupid pump is ridiculous with the amount of fuel it flows.

I was referring to the powerband with the cam versus the powerband with the stock cam... not the PDR cam vs. other cams. I will say, however, that the price is right!!!!

So was I. Have you seen me mention "my" particular brand in this thread yet? No, I haven't, nor have I downplayed the PDR cam, as I said in the begining ANY camshaft is better then stock as long as it works. You commented "my truck makes over 400 hp from 2400 rpms to 3500 rpms... you don't see that on most trucks setup like mine, and I attribute that wide power to the camshaft", I merely said my truck is the same, since you said you don't see that much. Don't make something out of nothing.

Wow... I didn't know I was. I thought I was answering someone's question about a PDR cam. That IS the title of this thread, isn't it? Everyone knows you have a DD cam... good for you... I'm glad you like it. I don't see where you inserting the comment "My truck yields the same results" with your DD cam has anything to add to the discussion.
