Paint for Gauge Pod
Paint for Gauge Pod
Wondering where everyone gets the paint to paint the gauge pods? I could probably try and match it at the local spray paint store. I was just wondering if my local dealer has something just for this type of thing.

RT
Re:Paint for Gauge Pod
I doubt the dealer will have anything since it is all molded plastic. I just took my fuse cover into Pep Boys and tryed to get the closest match I could. It's not a great match but who cares!!
Re:Paint for Gauge Pod
Yeah, what color are you trying to match?
When I did mine someone told me that they got a spray can from the Dodge dealer. I don't know about that because I found it hard to believe and went to the paint store and had them match it up.
I will tell you one thing I learned, there is no paint code for the interior colors, AND mine came with 2 different tan colors in it.

Chris

Chris,
For your camel/tan interior (trim code DZK9), Pull the fuse access door at left end of dash or pull ashtray. Hold either next to A pillar and then decide—are they the same color or not?
I think you'll call the dash and its attachments Dark Tan and the A pillar Camel.
Here are the Mopar numbers:
P/N 04864437 - Camel
P/N 05003524 - Dark Tan

Chris
You can get the interior color code from the inside of the glove box. Any auto paint store should be able to mix it for you and sell you a disposable paint sprayer. Make sure you wash the pod with dish soap rinse it well and let it dry to remove all oil and silicone. If you forget this step you can get fish eyes in the finish.

Re:Paint for Gauge Pod
Ok I ordered the full set of gauges. Including fuel pressure. I have read all the horror stories about the lift pump so I figure I better start monitoring mine. Now all I need is someone to tell me how to install them. The Pyro gauge I think I can handle just drill and tap the exhaust manifold post turbo. On the exhast side post turbo I really shouldn't have to worry about the shavings right. The fuel pressure guage I have seen a banjo bolt fitting that is already threaded for the gauge fitting. I saw it at Geno's. Has anyone used this with an install before? I also some something similar for the boost guage but Im still researching it. Any suggestions.

Ohh and I got the Di Procol Guages.

RT
