P7100 - loosening star wheel vs. sliding AFC housing

Right now, I have my star wheel loosened so much that the spring is actually loose in the housing. Would I be able to control the low end (pre-boost) fuel a little better if I tightened up the star wheel to the point that the spring has a slight amount of tension, and then slid the AFC housing forwards? Has anybody experimented with this? I'm wondering if there would even be a difference at all.

Big difference if you have not moved the housing yet. Once you move the AFC forward, you move the point of low fuel ahead. It will smoke alot more if you don't back out the zero boost screw on the back end of the AFC housing.

Could you explain, or point me to a link with the explanation, of zero boost screw on the back end of the AFC housing. I have a pretty good idea of the screw you're talking about, but I haven't seen any literature on what it actually does.
