Over boost with Smart Box

Hi all, My truck keeps throwing an overboost code even with my smartbox plugged in...

Not sure what to do about it.

I've changed the MAP sensor thinking that was the problem but it's still the same.

I was throwing the code before the smartbox, but I thought putting the box on with the built in Boost Fooler would fix the problem.

Apparently not.

Any sugestions??

Also what effect does having the code do to my performance?

If you're getting a P0234 code, I thought that one was supposed to put you in limp mode to protect the engine from over-boost.

If the boost fooler in the VA is working properly, you shouldn't see this one, even if your MAP is bad. Are you sure that it's not just an old code from before the VA was installed?

Yep, positive it's not an old code. I Scan for codes periodically, then erase them with the scan tool, then check for codes. Always no more codes, then next time I check, overboost will be back.

What gives?? How do I correct this.......`

I wonder if the boost fooler function in the SmartBox isn't working. Do you have a boost gauge? If so, what's the max boost you're seeing?
