Opinions on plates off of Ebay
I was thinking about buying a plate from PDI Performance on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8021965584 , looks like they are charging about 1/2 of TST et al. Has anyone had any experiences - good or bad - with them?

I saw tst kits for $139 with the install video and all on ebay. For $40 more I would get a tst but if they are not on there anymore then $100 for that kit seems pretty good

Never experienced an ebay plate but have heard they are made out of much softer steel than a TST. There is a ton of pressure on the plate, personally I'd rather use a well proven product like TST rather than try to save a buck. One thing nice about TST is if you want to change to a different plate they will take your old one in trade.
Sort of doubt that happens on ebay.

As I see it, you don't know what you're getting. Unless I misunderstand, the year of the truck doesn't determine the number of the plate. The number of the plate determines the power output based on the year and transmission of the truck. A #10 is a #10 no matter if you put it in a '96 auto or a '97 manual. I agree the price is attractive, but I would be leery.
