odbII scanner

Does anyone have a clue what "CMP rpm" is.
We pluged the ODBII scanner in tonight to watch boost readings, went for a ride and every thing was reading fine other than the CMP rpm. It reads 0. Shouldnt there be a rpm reading there?

Thanks for the help. Mooseman

OK I dug deeper and found its a cam shaft position sensor. So I guess with a 0 reading, is it a bad sensor?

The truck wouldn't run if it was.

There used to be both a Cam position sensor and a Crank position sensor.

2000 or 2001 they did away with one of them, combining them into one or the other.

I can never remember which one they kept though,
perhaps this is why you are reading zero, because it doesn't exist anymore?
