ODBII Scanner

I'm having some shifting problems that I've been told are electonic in nature (Govenor Solenoid or Pressure Transducer). Evidently problems with these components should be tripping a code. Rather than pay to have both replaced in hopes of fixing the problem I was hoping to buy a scanner and determine if they are tripping codes and if so, which one.

I've looked at the local shops (Discount, PepBoys, etc.) and nobody carry's a scanner for the 04' DC.

If anyone has a scanner they like that works on the 04's (not 04.5) I'd sure like a heads up.

Turn the key to the on positions three times quickly. leaving the key in the on position. codes set will be displayed in the odometer window then read "done"

I ran the key test & no codes were displayed. "Done" was immediately displayed. Can a scanner pick up anything that would not be displayed by the key test?

How about pushing and holding in the Trip Odometer and then turn the key on. This will cause the inst. panel to go through a test and possibly give codes.

When you get the code #s where can you find a list of what they are ? I've got a few but do not know what they are. The codes I have are; P 0633, P 0111, and P 0148. Does anyone know ?
