NW Iowa area Diesel Shops?!

Well, I'm graduating college finally after 5 years and have plans to spoil myself a bit. My old man has a duramax, but I'm slowly but surely becoming a cummins man. I have upgrade plans already and I'm trying to cover my bases before making a purchase. Are there any diesel performance shops in Iowa or midwest area?? I live 20 minutes east of sioux city, IA (corner of NE,SD, and IA) and have plans to BOMB the truck and upgrade tranny right off the bat. Can I trust anyone to install a new aftermarket tranny (suncoast, ATS, DTT) and other performance goodies? Help a man out here could ya? Thank ya much

Spencer Diesel, Spencer, IA, Graduated with a kid that used to work there. built pulling tractor pumps and last I knew had a pretty tough 96' cummins. beleive he work at CaseIH now. I had 2 Injector pumps rebuilt there excellent work, never heard a bad word about them, but I haven't been in that area for 6 yrs now. Good luck with your new carrer.

Thank you much. This truck will also be a part time seedcorn/beans hauler. If the construction engineering thing doesn't work out, hopefully my old man will give me a job on the farm and put that cummins (the one I don't have yet) to work.

I'm sure there are some more guys in here that live in the Iowa area that have experience. Chime in here boys!

If you're shopping for a built auto, Dave Goerend builds as good a tranny as any, he's in NE Iowa though.

There is a guy in Terril, IA (north of Spencer 16 miles) who does mods and repairs on Dodge Cummins and does a great job. Has done all the mods to my 01 and I have no complaints whatsoever. He runs 2 - 12V and 2 - 24 valve rigs in his family. Very reasonable too.
