Non wastegated turbo
Non wastegated turbo
Lets say i found a great deal on a non-wastegated HX-40, would i be wasting my time? What am i suppose to do if its not wastegated?
I tow a 15,000lb trailer daily and want more power for play, what's a good size HX40 to buy? There's a rebuilt/new WH1E on ebay, but sounds way to big? maybe not? Help...

You can get a WG 16cm for the 40 that will bolt right to your exhaust manifold. I know guys runing that setup and they realy like it. But the 16cm may spool a littl slow for the auto and you have to change the down pipe. The HX-40 has a larger exhaust flange. Look on HTT and they can make your turbo a hybrid and put a HX-40 60mm compressor wheel in your turbo and you will have a smaller exhaust housing with faster spool, and you can even go with a 14cm wg housing and you wont have to use a different down pipe like on the 40. With the WH1E is much to large to ust as a single. They do not make a housing that will bolt to your manifold and they are all way to big so it would be very hard to spool. The cheepest is the 16cm WG housing and Down Pipe and you are ready to go.
That chargers wheels aren't any better than the stock HX35's, but it's exhaust housing is way to big. I think I would try to go with an s300, you can find them you just have to look pretty hard to get a good deal... lol
