What do you think Don?

Hey Merrick--

I have a great idea for liquid oxygen injection... But I need a test truck.. one that's used to abuse.

Do you want to be the first (and maybe the last) to try my LOX PRO FOGGER???

It really does lower EGT....

You mean nitrous oxide.......right?

I was getting a little confused here. Guys around here usually refer to nitromethane as "nitro" and nitrous oxide as "nitrous" or many other clever nicknames - I like "thottle bottle" or "coo coo juice" .

Has anyone actually tried adding nitromethane?- I can't imagine how a diesel would react to that !

No Merrick is actually pondering Nitromethane-- the nasty stuff.

If you've seen the EGT that a Fuel car runs, you wouldn't even consider nitromethane in a diesel.

diesels optimum air to fuel ratio is 25:1 for cruising....as opposed to gasolines 14.7:1. I will check my notes from my engineering books and get you the specific heat for diesel, and then find my formula books. But if you know the stoich formula you can figure all that stuff out easy as pie!!

I would love to see Merrick try nitro - but that is nuts!

SuperDiesel on dieselplace.com is running a nitro/water mix on his d*ramax. He tried to run it in the 1/4 and it ended up making bad noises before the end of the track.

Nitromethane is some evil stuff. It is impact sensitive, if you put a drop of it on the floor and smack it with a hammer it will explode. They can't ship it in railroad tank cars any more because it can (and has) explode from the pressure of a sudden stop, leaving a smoking crater where the train was. I would not put it in a diesel engine. There's a good reason why top fuel and funny car engines need to be rebuilt after each run.

Nitrous oxide is healthy in comparison.

I've talked to the official water/meth SnowMan tester (Jim Fulmer, - Thanks Doug- ), and the Water/Meth/Nitro mix is a go!

I talked to Chris Strickland, and he said my truck HAS TO be done next Saturday.

Expect some news in 3 weeks...

Can't wait to see the results myself.

Horspower Freak blows Dyno shop up,, news at 11....
