NEWBIE, intro and questions!

Hi all. I'm new to the site (and diesels) and didn't SEE a FAQ page or newbie intro page, so I'll do it here. Been looking for a while and finally found the exact truck I wanted. '98 Quad cab 12 valve, 5 speed 4x4. I am wanting to do some minor mods for more power. It already has the gauge pod with pyrometer and boost. I plan on doing exhaust and some sort of pump mod. I've seen fuel plate's for $300 and I've seen 'em for $100. Is one adjustable and one fixed?? Sorry for the newbie questions. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated. I shopped for the 5 speed because I wanted to make more power without any auto trans. problems. On exhaust, any recommendations? There's a guy in town (Stan's headers, auburn WA) that does some killer work and has a full 4" kit turbo back for $400. Feel free to offer advice or point me in the right direction.

THanks, John

welcome aboard...first thing...an exhaust wont really add u any more power but u'll have to do something to the exhaust flow when u start making high hp to avoid high egt's that being said u can do ur own exhaust anyway u like it...i hacked everything off and went to a big rig wreckers yard an dgo all kinds of pipes and got creative .all plates are adjustable (slide em forward or back etc) go to the links section on this site and check all the performance vendors...have fun its cheap to get 400hp

See link above, at top of page, "Tech Facts". Lots of info there.
