J,

Are you gonna dyno that rig? I am curious to see what it makes.

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

Well Scratch that Houston Trip!!!!
My DTT Tranny started doing WEIRD stuff and I have a slight oil leak out of the oil return line from the bottom turbo.

I turned around 40 miles out and took my daughter to LOVE FIELD and let her catch a flight instead.

The oil leak is minor, more of an annoyance, and I am sure Mark will take care of it on Monday.

The tranny NOW that is a great concern!!! New thread starting on that one!

Don,
I would be curious about it on a dyno but that is about it...
I have been pleased with the performance gains of everything that has been done to the truck so far.
This setup will allow for MUCH larger injectors without question as it clears up the DDIII's easily and EGT's are like nothing. I am seeing 150 degrees cooler egt's above and beyond the fact that I was previously reading post turbo (at the downpipe) and now I am reading pre turbo.
Mark didn't have much of a chance to "test" anything as I drove off in the truck late last night when he finished the truck. I had to go to Houston. It was one of those things where it took him longer to do the work(my truck being tall with lift and tires didn't help either), if it could go wrong-it did, and I should have said "I will see you Monday sometime to pick it up". As it was I got home too late to go to Houston, my wife went on ahead of me anyways, and I ended up leaving this A.M.

I guess in answering your statement/question... I too am curious as to what it makes but the Dyno Bug hasn't really hit me. I am sure I will put it on one soon.

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

The work that Mark did, amoung other things, was the Quick Spool B1B and B2 Twins. Man I love this setup!!! There is not much lag at take off and none to speak of on a roll.

I also had him Cerama-chrome and cerama-black all the plumbing and the ATS manifold.

Head work: Ported and polished the head, Titanium springs, and Fire rings.

We were unable to get a billet cam (availability)and I have all but decided to go with something aggresive that will require piston work.

All in all it made for an extremely fast, quick spooling, Low EGT rig!

I would reccomend these turbo's in this combination to anyone running an auto trans wanting to run bigger injectors. My DDIII's don't seem so big anymore

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

Did Mark do a drive pressure test on that twin Combo? If so, what were they?

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

Stake,
I literally drove the truck off at 11 pm last night as he turned the last wrench. He will have to get his chance to tune it and test it Monday. I really didn't give him a chance....

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

I just want to know how youre gonna keep your rod bearings from flattening out ??? The only reason Im saying this is because I flattened at least one of mine a week ago with just a single B1 and now Im in the process of rebuilding :'(. Maybe you can help me out by telling me how you addressed this issue or maybe it was just a freak thing on my truck ???.Whadya think?

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

Scott,
If that happens...It happens but somethin tells me it wasn't "just" high boost that killed your motor. I dunno as I am not a mechanic or "wrench" or anything remotely close to it.
I like the seat of the pants performance and what "my eyes" can see so far about my set up.

J

Ps. I read your thread and I hope it all works out with your truck. From your sig it sounds like an awefully nice one!!!

You don't....it's call maintenance! I'd be willing to bet mine are worn bad. It's a HotRod, if you look at it like that your fine, don't anyone ever think that you can make big power and not work on it, if you do your time will come. My thinking is a set of bearings every year and if the leak down or compresson check doesn't look good then it needs to come out for a freshening!

Re:NEW TWINS AND OTHER MODS

I don't suppose with only 36,000 miles on my truck I could still take it in for warrantee if or when it happens to me...
