New turbo time. Woohoo
Ok, I am ready to buy a new turbo. I have the old hy and 135000 miles on it, so I figure I better. Anywho, what is the best for me? I will be puting on rv275's and smarty. That is probably all performance wise besides what I've already done. I will be pulling a small horse trailer and a bigger one later, but it mostly daily driver. Thanks guys. Please answer with experience. This is a lot of money to me and I want to make sure I am happy.
IN garrettland, a Stg 1 or 2 would be more appropriate-- faster spoolup. The stg 3 is overkill for this application. Now if he had a Comp and 275s, then the stg 3 would be a pretty good choice, imo...
again JUST my opinion..

True at first i notcied he had something for a fuel box and didnt realize what it was and took the smarty and being stacked on. But now i notice its only the hypertech. Yea id say your right with the stg 1 or 2.

I agree with that fully. My buddie has a pretty heavily fueled 12v and it is a pain to tow with. I honestly think that it would be managable with a stick though. The stage 3 has a bigger exhaust housing than the stage 1 and 2 which makes a big difference in spool time when towing.
thanx for the inpute so far. I will probably get rid of the hypertech. Going to get a smarty. Down the road maybe stack something. I was thinking of an S300G. Or something along that line. I found a schwitzer. Are they any good? I want something that will last.
The Garrett stg 1 and 2 use the same hotside, and the spoolup with them is essentially identical.
As for Schwitzer, a turbo won't be good or bad just because it says or doesn't say something on it. To know if it would be a good turbo, you need to more about the turbo-- turbine map to tell you spoolup, compressor map to tell you about how it will flow and the power potential it has, and whether or not it will surge.
The S300G I almost nothing about, but I think it's the basis for many of the Schwitzer 62mm turbos out there. I think the 58mm and smaller Schwitzers are technically S200s.
But I don't know much about these things-- this is just the impression I'm under from surfing the Bullseye Power site.

Yeah, I've heard of that
Lots of folks run the variants- its just best to keep the boost down for longevities sake. It should be the next size up from stock, but the small exhaust housing on the hy35 will cause it to spool quicker than the after market stuff.
Is it wastegated?
