i believe that turbo is available with a 12, 13, or 14, no 16cm

i've heard 13cm's are a great mix between the 12 and 14, get the faster spool up of the 12cm but have lower drive pressure and superior cooling abilitys of the 14cm

and if i were you, i'd consider ditching the lasercuts.... they just make a lotta heat especially if your only considering a 62mm charger.

get some 191's with the 300 injectors on a 62mm charger would be a sweet setup

the option for the housing are 13 or 16, but im a little confused because it says that they use the "Killer wheel" 71mm instead of 65

HTT turbo

I believe the Super Stock 62 is available with the 14, 13, and 16 housings. I would like to hear from anyone who has used this turbo. Preferably with the 13 housing on it. Also want run Mach4's with it.

The 65 one is a high pressure wheel for a low boost threshold. Drive pressures can be an issue with this turbine as well as surging when used with a bigger compressor. The 71 is a low pressure wheel so drive pressure should be lower while power will be higher, but you'll need to build a few lbs of boost before it lights.

The real question is where in the rpms are you looking for spool? Check out the graphs on the "Old School to High Tech" link:

Yes you will need to build some boost before it lights, but the 71 wheel is suppose to build boost faster once it lights. I think the super stocks all come with the 71mm wheel. Street stock come with 65 or 71 wheel.

Per HTT, the 16ss housing lights 200-300rpm later than the 13ss housing.

The email I got from Brandon there says that the 13 is about .75A/R, and the 16 is around .90

Housing options are 13 or 16 for SS, 14 for non SS. With smaller 65mm wheel, you can get the 12cm housing

Well I think this is my cue have been running the 62/61/13ss for around a week and so far my opinion is that this can be a real nice turbo if and I say if I can tame the egt's! I mean this thing made my truck into a completely different animal but early into a pull she does build heat! Heat that I am not sure that I can live with but I still have yet to play with my pump so I will know more this weekend. I can say one thing this thing rip's in the mid range and top end! Once lit it will hit 50 psi like nothing!! I think your five speed would help you with keeping the rpms up and spooling the turbo but I also think the Lazer cuts would do you in as far as the egts go.....

EGT are the whole point of upgrading the turbo, aren't they?

Please report back, as the turbo you ordered is a VERY promising option-- perhaps most promising daily driveable single to come down the pipe for the diesel shops.

I'm thinking the stick trans will help out a lot as far as my problems go I'm wondering if i should send my converter back to dave and have him looen it up a bit? As stated above my thoughts were this was going to help my egts and they are worse than stock and that is not good.

Correct - large turbos on diesels are analogous to large cams in gassers.... you can get away with more on the street if you've got a stick.
