New trans is here!!

My Goerend Bros trans showed up today 8)

It's black (not some other silly color) and really shiny. I'm so excited I think I'm gonna wet myself. Unfortunately I have to work three more days before I can put it in. Lots of time to appreciate my present trans(Not >)

Time to become a disinterested observer in future tranny wars. I'll post my unbiased first impressions. Goerend was my second choice until I compared prices and talked to Dave....

Customer service has been stellar thus far, we'll see if the trans and TC are as well ;D

Hey Cowhand, If you don't mind me asking, What was the "out the door" price on your tranny? What about installation and warranty issues if you install it yourself? I have been thinking more and more about trannys and they (Goerend) are about 5 hrs from me. The closest DTT installer is about 7 hrs.

Re:New trans is here!!

So DTT wont sell a trans without some specified shop installing it? Hard to justify, it costs less if I do all the labor.

Re:New trans is here!!

In order to steer clear of the tranny wars, I'll answer all specific questions in PM's. I looked at a local builder to go through my trans and rebuild with DTT goodies. By the time it was said and done, it would have been cheaper to order a new trans directly from Bill, and that was still doing the R&R myself. The big kicker was the core charge and shipping, both ways to BC.

After talking to several folks including Dave Goerend, I came to the conclusion that GB offers the most bang for the least buck. I'll post Sunday/Monday and let y'all know if I made the right decision.

In Bill's defense, he doesn't want his name on something that wasn't done his way. Haven't heard of many DTT failures that weren't user induced. As much as I respect that, I couldn't afford it.
