New Parts installed....OMG

Well got the manifold, II super 62/14 turbo, RV 275's and the 5" stacks and done yesterday, actually the sticks were done on Wed. WOW can't even explain the differance, now just waiting for the PM3!! Spool up is crazy compared to stock, and loud oh yea!! Couple of questions for those of you that have changed turbos? I was pulling a boat home yesterday morning and noticed that i was getting a solid 33 psi out of my stock turbo (after 275's installed) now i havent had a load on it, but last night the most i could get out of this new install is 27 psi?? Whats up with that? There is an adjustable elbow in the wastegate line but which way do i turn it? Do i need more fuel first before this will increase? I'm running the smarty on #4, should i mess with that some? I've always had my EGT probe post turbo, now its preturbo, what a differance that is too!!! that gauge really moves sometimes, and what is the temp where i need to get out of it at? I know alot of ?'s but i know theres great answers out in this forum, Also wanted to thank everyone thats given me info lately on what i should get for this, been a great help!!

Sounds nice. Dont worry about the boost you will need more fuel to see more. But with a load on it you should still seee 33+. You can try changing you smarty settings to, but dont worry about the waste gate its at 40psi+. Your egts, 1200 1250, are the numbers you dont wanna be goin over and being at for more than a few seconds, you can tow at 1150 all day long.

Leave the wastegate set for now, boost will come with more fuel.

Try running either the EZ or the Smarty by themselves. I would try number 7 with the Smarty no EZ. Just unplug the data link on the ez.

You'll get a more accurate reading with the probe in the manifold. The rule is 300 degrees difference just cruising on the highway, but WOT it's more like 500 degrees difference.

Don't worry about the wastegate setting for now. I believe they are set at around 45 psi as shipped. I am running a very similar set up as you, I see 32-33 psi with my Comp on 1x1 and no Smarty, my injectors are a little bigger than yours though. Just think of it as having "room for improvement". Ok been running around all weekend with this thing, and i'm not to impressed with what i just spent for these parts, seems like i dont start building boost till around 2000 rpm, smokes like a train before that, then pulls hard to 3000, had my empty 16' horse trailer on today, yea had to start out in 1st gear!!! when i tried 2nd it sound like it was goin to bog out and die? i've tried #4, 7&8 on the smarty and not much differance!! and still only gettin around 27 psi?? any ideas, i sure thought this would run better with what i just put on, not forsure if the stock turbo wasnt pulling better?? thanks for any info...

Are you just flooring the throttle, or rolling into it? I notice a big difference between flooring and rolling. Roll in, minimal smoke and its nice and smooth. Floor it, lots of smoke, seems to spool late and then comes on fairly hard. I'm running mine on #7. I'd second to what Mike D. said, and run either the Smarty or EZ. They are both trying to do the same thing. I think you'd get more benefit of just the Smarty alone than stacked with the edge.

Hmm....

You should be able to start his trailer better with the 275's.

Other than that, welcome to the wonderful world of high performance turbo's. Sounds to me like you are under fueling the 62/14 a bit. Wait till you get the TST going before you change too much.

Well i just ordered the TST PM3, so i guess i'll let everything go until it comes in and then see what happens!! Thanks for the info... Now with the TST will i need the Edge EZ? or will that go away?

The TST only does fuel, so you can run either the EZ or the Smarty for timing.

Get the manifold leak taken care of before you start worrying about boost numbers. The tst will make add more fuel/boost when you get it on.
