New HRVP is in
Hey guys,
I went out to Mass Diesel Friday night and had the new HRVP installed. I went with the SHY (sp?) pump. The 250 mile ride home started out great but then the snow started to fall. Before the snow fell I was able to make a couple of good runs. This thing pulls hard! The pump made a BIG difference! My truck was loaded (a little over 10,000 lbs)with welding equipment and it pulls better then when it's empty. So a Big thank you to Scott and Bob out at Mass Diesel for a job well done. It's definitely time for a turbo now!

OH NO!! they don't make any power with other mods on them. Did you get the Industrial Injection SHO pump? Does it idle smooth or rough?

I went with a pump from SHY. I don't know if that's the correct spelling but that's how ya say it. Any how they claim a 100 hp increase over a stock type VP. Scott recommended it strongly so I went with it. The idle is real loopy. I think it sounds awesome.

As far as the egt go... I think I should buy a new turbo and soon! I can peg my gauge in just a few seconds. I have the Smarty on 9 so hopefully today I can adjust it and see if that helps my egt's at all. It was 5 deg F here yesterday and the truck will still smoke BIG time off the line.
