Need tips on getting more HP!!!
Hey i got a 02 2500 auto w/ Edge EZ, BD boost fooler Banks Hi ram, K&N intake, straight piped to 6" stacks, and egt, boost, amd tranny temp gauges. Anybody have any good, quick, cheap ideas of getting some more HP out of the ol beast.
cheap quick and easy not really. you need to address your fueling needs if you dont have a good lift pump. fass, Airdog etc. do this first. then look at either selling the Ez for a bigger box with adjustability. edge w/attitude. or you could keep the EZ and go for some injectors maybe 75-100 hp. this really depends on what you want for power and what you do with your truck the more fuel you add period will be higher temps and depending if you tow at all. soon you will need to address your tranny too. alot of people dont have faith for a K/N filter to me they are great for a gasser but I wont use them on a diesel. what are your readings on your fuel pressure currently with your set up now?
Well right now I actually don't really know what my fuel pressure is, I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. And as far as what I do with the truck, I tow stuff probably 50% of the time and the other 50% of the time I'm just cruisin around town and stuff like that. I have actually already checked into injectors but which ones would you recomend as far as bang for the buck??
IMO (in my opinion) I wouldnt go with any other then DDP or F1 Mach Series.
Neither are cheap, but both are SO worth the money.
So many guys are willing to spend Thousands on a trans, 1500+ on a turbo, 1500 in chip/programmer stacks, But wanna find a good injector for 500 bucks.
Any injector that cheap is gonna run hot, be super smokey, idle rough... Keep the truck runnin right with quality sticks to match the rest of the quality parts and you Wont be disappointed. JMO.
I would think a set of Mach 1.6's or DDP 100 would leave you with a smile.

Alrite cool well ill do some checking on those injectors and see what I come up with. Do you guys think I should still get a FASS, AirDog etc. If I go with some 75hp-100hp injectors?? And as far as my tranny issues I just had it rebuilt with all HD parts and put a $1000 triple clutch TC so I'm figuring I should be ok on that aspect. And on the injectors again should I go. With 75hp or 100hp or which ones??? Thanks for the help fellas
yes you need to go with a fass or airdog, your oem pump is smaller and weaker and prone to fail. its a cheap investment if you think about how long those pump run. I have just over 4 years now with my FASS and not a problem and have 19-21 psi at idle nothing under 15 on WOT. so now the bigger question is the shape of your turbo. will it handle 100hp sticks yes. but how hot will you get pulling ? so you either go with sticks or you get a fueling box that you can change on demand pending your need. tow or daily drive. look into turbos and then you will have more affective fuel burn and better temps. one step at a time do it right and you wont have to worry.
Leave all of that electric CRAP off of your truck. Put this fuel pump on and never worry again. Available right here in the DTR store.

Ok fellas thanks for all the feedback, im gonna check into a FASS and probably go with that and then wait a little bit and go for some sticks. But now i got another question.........just recently my POS tps has been acting up. ive had to reset it like 3 times in last 2 weeks. so i broke down today and went and bought a new one from mopar(HIGH F__kin dollar!!!) and now after the install the CEL kicked and im trowin p1693, p0121, & p0237 help me out fellas!!! i looked up what the codes are, im just tryin to figure out how to fix this. I truly hate all this elctronic crap on these trucks.
well just ordered me a FASS DDRP system from the DTR store so its on the way now. we will see how that helps me and get some sticks later on. do i need a Fuel gauge to watch my pressure with the DDRP??? I dont know what id do without DTR!!!!!!!!!!

With all of the towing you are doing, you might want to look at a little bit bigger turbo to help keep things cooled down while pulling a trailer over any hills. Especially if you are going with bigger injectors.
You might also want to get rid of the K&N filter. I have heard that they are not built as strong as other performance diesel filters out there.
You could run a water/methanol kit. I picked up 70rwhp on the dyno running one. Fass is a good pump, I've been running one for eight years. I run an edge comp box, and smarty stack. Bigger sticks helps. I just bought a set of 6X0.018 at 146 deg's and I plan build a new set of twins just for those sticks.
