any tips for getting fluid in the transfer case without spillin it everywhere? What about the front differential with the stabilizer bar in front of it ?

The best bet is to use a pump that drops in your fluid bottle and has a short hose that fits in the filler hole. They are available from most autoparts stores for just a few dollars. When done with it, put it in a zip lock bag and seal it up until next time.

For my front diff , i used a funnel with a long hose and wedged it up in the wheel well , so i could pour oil in from the wheel well, similar to this funnel:
And for the T case. i used a bottle left over from the front 80-90 , like this:
I just kept filling it up with the ATF, never looked , but the funnel from the front diff lube should work with a shorter hose.

i have a little hand pump in my shop that fits over a small bucket. i use a clean, small bucket filled with the ATF in it and pump it straight into the T-case. it works pretty good and doesn't make too much mess. The only problem is i couldn't tell where it came from, well i know "where it came from" but i dunno where it was bought from. It use to be works, but i borrowed it with the intent of returning at some point in my life.

oh, and i clean it out the pump and use the same set up on my diffs but with a 5 gallon bucket of gear lube instead.

Thanks , I need to get one of those pumps. I wound up pouring the tranny fluid into my gear oil bottle with the pointed tip spout, that worked good.

Another good option is to buy a spout adapter. I bought mine at advance auto. It looks like the flexible 5 gal gas can spout but has an adapter ring on it that allows it to be threaed on a gear oil or quart ATF cans. The best part is that it even has a swivel on off thing on it so you can route the funnel before dumping the fluid.

screws into the top of most one gallon jugs, $6, works excellent.

Hi, I use something similiar to Infidel, beats the heck out of crawling out from under the pickup to re-fill the suction gun all the time, since the suction gun only holds half a quart, I always seem to be crawling out to refill it. With the pump, you just take the number of quart bottles needed with you under the pickup, and do it all while your under there.

Yeah I messed around for 30 years with funnels and hoses etc. Got 1 of those little hand pumps that fit in the bottle and you are done now! I can't believe it took me so long to get one.

even a decent transmission funnell with the flexible metal hose works just fine,m you just hold the funnel above the fill point, stick the end in the fill opening and pout it in, they are like less than $10 most everywhere.

I must be the only one that trys to make things as simple and cheap as possible. Just take the top from a gear lube bottle and put it on your tranny fluid bottle jam a 6-8" 5/16 id hose on the gear lube top, You know the pointed tip. Now you're ready to start squezing it into the transfer case. When you get that bottle as low as you can remove the cap w/hose and put it on the next bottle. This is the most simple, cheap way that I've come up with to fill in hard to reach places. I always have some hose around just for that purpose, and usually save a gear lube cap or two also.
