Need some help (Edge Comp)

Alright I bought my truck a couple of weeks back, and it already had the Comp box on it. Well it would only turn up to level 1. You can turn it up to 5, but it feels the same as one. I got to checking the pump wire and they had it hooked up but it was getting no power. I moved the wire and I am now getting 12 volts, but nothing has changed. I checked everything I know to check. Well I thought maybe the Comp was bad, I bought a brand new one and plugged it into the harness that was already ran, and nothing changed. Does anyone have any clues?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, Chuck

Do you have the proper wire tapped? If you do, i would suggest taking out the old harness and running the new harness that you got with the new comp box. The wire harness maybe bad, it is not unheard off. Make sure all of your grounds are good, i ran my ground to the battery instead of the intake horn bolt. Like you said, you should be reading 12volts at the injection pump wire tap.

Yeah thats the last thing I know to do is runs the new harness. I did have to move the pump wire it was connected into the actual pump harnes and not the pump wire. This thing has been more trouble.

I had the exact same problem, i had +12V on the pump wire amd no difference between level 1 and 5. I sent the whole unit back to edge harness and all. They sent it back saying it was repaired but i suspect they didn't check the harness because it didn't work any better when i got it back. I tried pretty much everything with no avail and ended up ordering a quadzilla. Hopefully it works.

Does your truck have any codes up? Try running the new harness from the new comp and see what happens, i'm intersted to know.

Also it did throw the check engine light after we moved the wire. Would that cause it not to work?

I haven't got my quadzilla yet in the mail but you can find them online for as low as $319 and they do everything a comp does. You need to check what codes are up, turn the ignition key on and off 3 times quickly (without starting) and write down the codes that show up on the odometer. The check engine light certainly could be buggering you up.

I went out and checked the code. It the the P1693 and i did a little research for others on here and I guess I will have to go get it scanned. Its got a brand new injection pump, the lift pump is about 6 months old with the bigger line kit on it. So I dont think it would be any of that.

Ya mine has a new injection pump too... I would put the new harness on and give it a try anyways. Also, i bought a code reader for $100 it it was well worth it being able to read and clear codes without taking it somewhere. I'm quite excited to get my quadzilla and give it a go, i'm fairly certain edge never properly repaired my comp or never looked at the harness since i'm having the same problems as you with no codes.

My code cleared when I cranked the truck back up. I talked to edge and even though this one is out of warranty they are going to take it back and look at it. Maybe they can fix it. Definately let me know how you like the quadzilla. Thanks for your help today also man!
