I would realy like to get bigger calipers ive already put drilled and sloted rotors on they seem to help but are no comparison to the other non dodge trucks i use at work. also ive seen brackets for putting disc brakes on dana rears has any one else done this.

i would try 1 ton chevy wheel cylinders in the rear first they make a big difference. befor you change calipers. im not sure on the part # but you can do a search and find it pretty easy

It costs about $30 for the chevy wheel cylinders for the rear end, and it makes a worth while difference. I didn't notice it at first, but after daily driving it for a day, it makes a difference.

I've got a 94 2500 2wd that I put 3500 calipers on the front. The piston is larger than the 2500's. I don't know if the 4x4 will interchange but 2wd does. I also have the chevy cylinders on the rear. It stops pretty good for a early 2nd gen.

Drilled and slotted rotors would hurt your braking power. Less surface area.

Drilled and slotted rotors don't hurt your braking power. If drilled and slotted rotors hurt braking why do you find them on all high performance sports cars? They increase braking power due to the ease of released gases caused when a pad rubs on a rotor. Eric

They compensate by installing bigger diameter rotors. A drilled rotor has less surface area compared to a regular one of the same size. The whole idea behind drilled & slotted rotors is to keep them cool and direct brake dust away.

Sorry, but the minimal surface area lost in the small holes does not equate to any loss of braking. Like I said before, the holes are put in the rotors to release gas caused during braking that causes heat, this in turn lowers temperature and makes braking more effective. You can disagree all you want but my brother worked at Brembo for a few years and my information is correct. Eric

You're correct about the gasses and cooling. Those factors would help braking but the loss of surface area from drilled/slotted rotors is not negligible as you say. A lot more info than most people want to know about rotors in this thread:
