my tranny may be wounded

This is the first one of these trucks i have ever owned with an automatic so i need some suggestions. It was supposed to have a heavy duty rebuild 20k miles ago. When its cold in the morning it seems to slip badly when i first start it. If i put it in neutral to fill the tc it surges like its slightly in gear. Tonight when i was driving on the highway at 65mph it was sort of surging like it was having trouble holding overdrive. I plan on upgrading the transmission eventually, but would like to wait a little while if i can. I run the juice on level 1 so i don't hurt the trans. Any help or suggestions are appreciated, because i've never even driven an auto dodge before. Thanks, Ross

Your transmission is dying. You need a built auto to hold DD3's and a Juice.

Have you checked the fluid level? It must be up to temp, on level ground, and check it with it running in NUETRAL.

Did they replace the TC with a better than stock one when the trans was rebuilt. It could be just the TC dying.

Thanks for the replies, I think the TC is still stock. The trans fluid is fine. I'm getting ready to change the fluid, and filter today. Is there anyway to tell if it's just the tc? Thanks Ross

Could it be the TC locking and unlocking? Maybe electrical noise. Do a search on that - many posts.
