mount boost guage & pyro

where is the best place to mount the boost guage sensor on the manifold.
I also have a piers boost bolt. I have a 98 24 valve cummins, with a terminator 2
power pak. Also where is the best place to put the pyro tube, pre-turbo or post-turbo. Italked to a cummins mechanic and he said it would be more accurrate post-turbo on the cast down pipe.
What are your thoughts? he also said there is a good chance the manifold will crack if mounted pre-turbo.

I dont know about the 98 but on the 01 theres a 3/4 inch pipe plug to the left of the map sensor where you could adapt down for your boost.

Most put the pyro pre turbo, drill and tap the manifold right before the turbo connects. I have heard of no problems placing it there.

1. Use the boost bolt and replace one of the manifiold bolts closest to the valve cover and boost "horn".
2. Your mechanic is on drugs. Is it more accurate to measure heat at its source or 2 feet away?
3. The stock manifold is prone to cracking reguardless of if you drill a pyro hole or not.
4. Find another mechanic.
