More Power for $1000 or less

How can I increase my HP in my truck for $1000 or less?
I don't have the $$$ to put into the truck at this time but would like to have a little more power to pull my 5th wheel that wt's about 9000 lbs.
Thanks for any help you can give me..

First get gauges, then a fuel plate, and then a 3000GSK and boost the line pressure on your auto. You will be well under $1000 and your truck will surprise you and everyone else.
The GSK will help save the auto.

You can get the parts at Piersdiesel.com or wildcatdiesel.com among other places.

A 3000GSK is a set of governor springs that allow the engine to fuel well until at least 3000rpm instead of starting to defuel at around 2400 rpm. IMHO, it is the nicest improvement for the engine after you have changed the fuel plate.

With the 3000GSK, you can use the higher rpm to pull hills at a better speed than with the stock setup, and therefore help to save the auto.

With the stock setup, I was never able to run comfortably at highway speeds while towing.

BTW, you do not have to run at 3000 to see the benefits of the governor kit. The advantage is obvious all through the power band.
PS, you can also get a 4000 kit.

4K ;D is nice. You don't even have to buy the 3k kit if you don't want to. I have many friends with CTD and no money : and I just glick down the stock gov springs two clicks and they actually pul to 3300 before they defuel at 3800 but if you just do one click then it fuels to 2900 and not to 3000 :- DM01

Be careful you could cause other problems especialy with an automatic you could have a bucking problem while towing or backing up a hill. Your idle will be affected and may surge at idle and at low RPM's. Do your pump a favor and get the 4,000 kit and the valve springs. You will save money in the long run and have peace of mind.
