gauges first!!

fuel makes the power so you need to increase your fuel delivery if you want more HP and TQ. the exhaust and intake will help keep your EGTs in check, but on an otherwise completely stock truck, you wont feel the effect of exhaust and intake.

heres the link to some of the many free mods to help you get started...plate position, custom plate, star wheel, etc http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/more_power/power_p7100.htm, BUT remember more fuel (for the same amount of air) = increased EGTs....and thats why you NEED an EGT gauge before you start tinkering with the fuel.

diesels are opposite of gassers, the more fuel you feed to a diesel the hotter it gets!!

welcome!! and ask lots of questions...

ok so if im understanding this correctly, i need to adjust my fuel plate for a little more power? could i still use my stock fuel plate, or should i go with a new one ?i heard the #10 isnt good for auto tranny's, correct me if i am wrong. and if i get a new plate how much would that cost?

You can slide your stock plate forward for up to 40 more hp. The #10 is also a good choice, but don't get the #10 and slide it forward (not good for tranny). Between those two choices, I'd get the #10 over sliding the stock plate forward. I'm running a #10 and 3kgsk with the stock auto tranny. Just can't be too hard on it. You can grind a #10 fuel plate profile out of your stock one for free, there's templates floating around these forums. Otherwise I think you can get one for about $100 from ebay if you want to keep your stock one.
