Milage increasing chip

Has anyone out there heard of a milage inhancing chip that Dodge is saying is ok to install???? One of my co-workers was telling me about a chip that a shop in Idaho pointed him in the direction of, since being told about the chip he has forgotten who makes the da@# thing. Apparently, you can install this chip and it increases your MPG and is supported and approved for use by Chrystler/Dodge.

If anyone knows about this chip and who makes it would you please relay the info so I can contact the co. and order one.

Thanks in advance

Allen

When you find one, contact Dodge too...
I'm sure they'd LOOOOVE to put one on every truck to help them meet the new stricter MPG requirements.

Welcome to the site.
Some manufacturers have "boxes" that may help mpg by a mile or so per gallon.
But they also increase the fun factor by increasing power.
This usually results in reduced MPG as the driver has the uncontrolable urge to stomp on the accelerator every chance he/she gets.

YMMV

Almost anything you do will increase your fuel mileage. I have an Edge Comp box and it increased my mileage by at least 2 mpg as long as I stay out of it and I haven't even taken it out of EZ mode yet. Adding injectors, a fueling box, almost anything you do to these trucks makes them run better and more efficient up to a point then you start going back down hill.

Good Luck and I know this probably isn't exactly the answer you wanted but maybe it will guide you in the right direction.

With my smarty on sw1 with 275 injectors I am getting 18MPG. That included stop and go New York City diriving-(Manhatan). With the smarty, you just load it back to the programer, and Dodge never knows it was there.

I beleive Cummins sells a performance computer that is warrantable, however it pales in comparison to the aftermarket boxes

I have a hard time believing Dodge would endorse or condone ANY aftermarket box. If they wanted it to run that way, they would've programmed it that way themselves.
