mbrp 4" exhaust hangers

I just purchased the mbrp 4" exhaust system for my 01 3500 Cummins.

My stock system had only 4 rubber hangers... it looks like the mbrp has spaces for 8 or more rubber hangers.

I've been running the downpipe only after the rest of the system rusted out and fell off...

Am I right in assuming that i'm going to need to get new rubber hangers? If so, where should I order them from?

Anybody that's put one of these setups on have any comments on mounting?

Thanks!

Mine went on using only the factory location hangers. I would say the hardest part about my install was cutting the old exhaust out of the truck, which you won't have a problem with. Eric

If you look you will see that the hangers go in pairs on most. I have put on a lot of MBRP 4" and 5" and they are very good exhaust. You can get more rubber hangers at most parts stores that are very close to the OEM Using WD-40 will make the old ones come off easyer and the new ones go on. You will realy like the tone of the new exhaust. P.S. You need to fill in your sig, If you have a 12-Valve you will need a hanger kit part# HG6100 if it is a 24-valve It will bolt right up. I've got a '01 3500 long bed and the MBRP system for mine only had two mounting spots (two rubber hangers at each), one at the rear and one at the muffler. Sounds like you may have the wrong part. It was a snap to install. Including cutting the old system off with a gas hatchet it took my son-in-law and I less than two hours to button everything up. And it sounds great. I get no drone with the 3.55 rear end.

Yes there are 2 spots with 2 hangers at each welded to the muffler and one at trans crossmember and one at the tail pipe on the 4x4. Not to brag but I have done enough that using a saw zaw I can have the old one out and the new one in in about 30min by my self. jvanich and DieselNoob you guys need to fill in your sig so that its easyer for us to help you guys out if you ever have probs. Its in your userpc at the top left of your screen. Welcome to the DTR.

Ok, I updated my signature

It appears that I must have lost 2 of the rubber hangers when I lost the rest of the exhaust.

I totally agree about using the sawzall and getting it off quickly... If it wasn't 30 degrees here in chicago today, I'd be getting the new pipe on... but I guess it's going to have to wait a while longer until it gets a bit warmer.

The truck sounds pretty cool with just the downpipe.... But I'm sure that all the black soot on the bottom of it isn't going to be that great for it.
