Question Max Post Turbo EGT'S????

What are the max post turbo EGT's that I should go to?? I'm going to use a 3 piece manifold down the road due to the cost of rebuilding my motor...(can't afford $600 for a 3 piece right now)

About 800* post turbo. Is that where your EGT probe was mounted when you broke your engine? I've seen as much as a 500* difference between pre and post turbo EGT's and that's with just an EZ. I could only imagine it with injectors and what not.

Yes BB, it is mounted just after my turbo.. How much cooler do you think a sps 62 would cool opposed to my hx35??

Oh dear sweet heavenly figure (gotta be politically correct ya know ). It would be a pretty significant difference. At least 300* if not more. I know when I went from my hy35 with a comp and 275's and 1500+ EGT's to a KSB-1 I lost 300* easily and probably a little more than that.

Why don't you just drill and tap your exhaust manifold while the engine is being rebuilt? Just remove it and do it off the truck. That way you'll get a better idea of what your engine's doing.

Been running mine for the last 4 or 5 years with no issues. These manifolds are known to crack on their own. I'd much rather have to replace a cracked manifold than an engine.

On my 2001.5 my post EGT's were about 600-700 until I put the 315's on. Now I get as high as 800 - 820 on when pulling a major grade (hill) with the Edge-EZ and 4" exhaust.

When I first installed my EZ my EGT's went from 1250* (stock with BHAF and 4" exhaust) to 900*. That's pre turbo. The added timing really helped the EGT's come down.
