Marine Gasket
The .020 gasket will put the injectors further away from the pistons limiting the amount of timing one can run, unless the block has been decked. I was running a .020 marine with ddp4s at 19* timing. Just blew a head gasket and when the head came off the spray pattern was outside the bowls of my marine style pistons. I contacted ddp and they said the .020 gasket was the problem. They said my injectors were designed for the standard gasket thickness. so now my head is on its way to be oringed and will be going with a standard thickness gasket.
Thats because in all reality you r timing was higher. I run DDP4s, .020 gasket (head not milled) and .020 injector washers I have my timing set at 16.5* which is really 17.5*-18* at the piston. When you run the thicker gasket or thicker washers it is pulling the nozzle tip out of the bowl.
I know there is a way ro figure it out, but I would have to contact another member for the calculations.
